Delayed Baggage

We do our very best to make sure baggage arrives with our passenger to his/her destination. But sometimes certain unpredictable events such as bad weather conditions, technical issues with baggage handling or torn baggage tag, may lead to baggage being damaged or delayed/missing.
a. If passenger can't locate his/her checked baggage upon arrival

he/she must immediately notify the lost and found department of the company representing Cyprus Airways at the destination airport. Lost and Found Department at each station will perform the search activities and communicate with the passenger by emails, SMS or call in regards to the missing baggage.
b. Reimbursement for Emergency Expenses

Passengers whose baggage has been delayed beyond 24 hours may be compensated for reasonable emergency expenses on the basis of evidence (receipts), such as personal hygiene items, underwear and daily emergency clothing. Compensation is provided only to passengers who are not permanent residents of the country of arrival. Such interim payment shall not replace the compensation due under the convention, nor the liability limit. It is a deposit made to the passenger for the immediate expenses for the first 3 days without his luggage.
c. If the baggage has not been traced or identified after 7 days from the date of the passenger's declaration

In this case, if the baggage is not detected within 7 days from the day of arrival at the passenger's destination, then the passenger must contact Cyprus Airways at email address bagclaims@cyprusairways.com providing the claim request number, and a detailed list of the contents of the lost baggage so that we can proceed to further search. The more information and details given, the greater the chances of finding the baggage.
d. If the baggage is not detected after 21 days from the date of the passenger's declaration

In this case the bag will be declared lost and the settlement process with the passenger will begin. The passenger can contact e-mail address bagclaims@cyprusairways.com where he will be given all the information necessary to complete the settlement.
Pilferage (on arrival)

This should be reported by the passenger to any Cyprus Airways staff or its authorized handling agent as well as it is recommended to be reported to the Authorities at the time of delivery at the airport. Total delivered shall be recorded on the DPR and items missing should be clearly verified and mentioned on the DPR raised.
