Baggage Assistance

If something happens to your baggage, we're here to guide you. Below you'll find what to do and how we support you.

  • If your bag arrives damaged

Report damage to the Lost & Found desk at the airport before leaving baggage claim. This creates a Damage Report (DPR) immediately.

    What to bring:

    • The damaged bag
    • Baggage tag(s)
    • Passport or ID
    • Boarding pass

After leaving the airport: Contact us within 7 days at bagclaims@cyprusairways.com with photos, dimensions, DPR reference, and any receipts.

We always try to repair first. If repair isn't possible, we arrange a replacement based on an independent assessment.

What isn't covered (normal wear & tear): Light scratches, minor dirt, damage from overpacking, missing external accessories, general wear on wheels/handles, fragile items in checked baggage, and musical instruments accepted under limited release.

  • If your bag doesn't arrive

Visit the Lost & Found desk immediately. We'll create a file and begin tracing with our airport partners. You'll receive updates by email, SMS or phone.

Essential items reimbursement: If delayed 24+ hours and you're away from home, we may reimburse reasonable purchases of toiletries, underwear, and basic clothing. Keep your receipts.

After 7 days: Email bagclaims@cyprusairways.com with your file reference and a detailed contents list.

After 21 days: Baggage is considered lost under international regulations. We begin the settlement process.

  • Missing items from your baggage

Report missing items to us as soon as possible. If appropriate, inform local airport authorities. Ensure all missing items are listed in your Damage/Pilferage Report (DPR) for accurate assessment.

  • Codeshare flights — partner airline baggage rules

If your ticket shows a Cyprus Airways flight number but the flight was operated by another airline, the operating airline's baggage rules apply — including allowance, fees, and claims handling. Submit any baggage reports directly to the operating carrier.

  • A reminder about valuables

Keep valuables and essentials in your cabin baggage: money and jewellery, electronics (laptops, tablets, phones), travel documents, medicines, and irreplaceable items.

Compensation for lost, delayed, or damaged baggage is governed by the Montreal Convention, subject to liability limits defined under that Convention and our Terms and Conditions.
